Jose Troncoso was born and raised in Esquel and is an essential part of the lodge’s daily operations. He oversees maintenance of the lodge and farm, caring for everything from the greenhouse and sheep to the chickens and surrounding property. If something needs fixing, Jose is always the person everyone calls.

Naturally skilled with repairs and maintenance, Jose genuinely loves working with his hands and solving problems. Whether repairing equipment, improving the property, or handling unexpected situations, he approaches every task with dedication and experience. He is especially known for being happiest on a roof, moving around with impressive confidence as if he were standing on solid ground.

Outside of work, Jose is a devoted husband and proud father of four children. Spending time with his family is one of the things he values most. He is also a passionate Boca Juniors fan and never misses the chance to talk football.

Fishing has been part of Jose’s life since childhood, and about eight years ago he discovered fly fishing, quickly becoming passionate about it. After finishing his daily responsibilities at the lodge, he loves heading down to the lake banks nearby, where healthy trophy trout and the peaceful Patagonian evenings make for unforgettable moments.
